On December 11, 2020, a building under construction at 555 Teeple Terrace in London, Ontario, partially collapsed, resulting in the tragic deaths of two construction workers and injuries to several others.
Following the incident, legal actions ensued, including a $2 million lawsuit by the families of injured workers and a $4 million insurance claim by the building’s owner. Additionally, Ontario’s Ministry of Labour conducted an investigation that led to eight charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act against two companies and an unidentified individual.
