London Fire Fighters doing ice rescue training

Ice rescue training

Thank you to a member of the community who sent us these pictures from last week of fire crews doing ice rescue training at Fanshawe Lake. With the recent warm temperatures if there is any ice on local waterways please avoid them as they are not safe.#LdnOnt

The modern firefighter does more then just fight fires. Firefighters train everyday for all skills and for all possible emergency situations such as:
– water and ice rescue emergencies,
– motor vehicle accidents and extrication,
– hazardous materials,
– rope and high angle rescue
– high rise emergencies,
– driver training and pump operations,
– medical response,
– assist police & ambulance,
– fire prevention & inspection,
– incident command…and more
