Dozens of London Firefighters will join hundreds of invited guests attending the regimental funeral for Corporal Nathan Cirillo in Hamilton Tuesday.
Around 40 London Firefighters will be making their way to Hamilton Tuesday morning to pay their respects to Cirillo, who was shot while standing guard at the National War Memorial last Wednesday.
“The military has always been part of our memorial services that we have for our fallen brothers, so we’re going to return the favour,” said Platoon Chief Doug Shannon.
London firefighters will attend in full dress uniform.
The funeral at the Christ’s Church Cathedral will be broadcast on screens a sporting arena in the city, Hamilton’s First Ontario Centre, where mourners are invited to gather to grieve.
The service will also be carried live by Rogers TV in London starting at noon.
