Firefighters quickly doused a blaze at an Egerton St. hobby shop tonight that was believed to be sparked by a welder’s torch.

Crews were called to the address on a back alley near Dame St. shortly after 7 p.m.

A large man door had to be cut away to get inside the building located behind an automotive upholstery business.

Once inside, firefighters could be seen spraying down a damaged Chevy truck.

Witnesses at the scene said there were two cars, a Camaro and a Mustang, also stored inside the building.

London police at the scene said the man leasing the building had been welding about 30 minutes before the fire was discovered.

He left briefly to help a friend with moving. When he returned the building was on fire.

No estimate of damage is available.
