On a hot, sticky summer day, the firefighters of London station N0. 10 had no trouble finding the heat in this straw fire that got out of control in southeast London.  Here, they get ready to knock down another flaming section of a wheat field.  Firefighters from several stations were called to a 50-acre (20 hectare) field of straw stubble south of Westminster Drive, east of Highbury Avenue.  Much of the field was on fire, with the cause of the blaze thought to be a car driven through the field by kids.  The car also caught fire, but no one was hurt in the blaze, which was helped by strong westerly winds.
