Mersadie Herdman, 5, gets a lesson on the proper way to wear her bike helmet from Julianne Wever, the London Fire Department’s public fire and life safety instructor, during a bike rodeo at the Stronach Community Centre on Friday, May 28. The rodeo was put on by the London Block Parent program – a member of Child Safety Middlesex-London – in partnership with the North London Optimist Club, as a reminder to parents and children of the importance of wearing a helmet to prevent injuries while riding bicycles, scooters, in-line skates and skateboards.
