London fire officials ready to answer the burning Questions.
Ask before you burn.
That’s the message from the London fire department as backyard fire season approaches.
“With spring outdoor cleanup starting, we know some folks choose to burn brush and yard debris on their property,” acting deputy fire chief Jack Burt said in a statement issued Tuesday.
While backyard fires are permitted in containers, burning brush isn’t allowed under the city’s open-air burning bylaw, said Burt, who encouraged Londoners to contact the fire department with any questions before starting fire in their yard.
Residents are encouraged to drop off yard debris at a city yard-waste depot.
