Man killed in crash in south London Friday
One man died and a second man was injured when a pickup truck and car collided Friday in southeast London.
The crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. at Wilton Grove Road and Old Victoria Road.
The man who was driving the car was killed, police said. His identity wasn’t released Friday.
A passenger in the car climbed out of the damaged vehicle and was taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries, Staff Sgt. Blair Harvey said.
The car had extensive damage to the driver’s side. One of its front wheels was found about 100 metres away in a field.
The truck ended up on its side on the shoulder of the road.
Officers found the female driver sitting beside the damaged truck, Harvey said. She wasn’t injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The front corners of the two vehicles appeared to collide, Harvey said.
Wilton Grove Road was closed for several hours while investigators gathered evidence.
