Fire crews were called to the scene at around 10 p.m. Sunday.

They arrived to thick, black smoke pouring out of the back of the garage, and worked quickly to ensure the flames did not spread to an attached house.

Platoon Chief Dave Walmsley tells AM980 at this point, it’s not clear whether the blaze is suspicious.

“The cause is now being investigated by our department, and the Ontario Fire Marshall is coming in to take a look at it as well,” said Walmsley

Everyone inside the home was able to make it out safely, and did not require any medical treatment.

The damage to the garage and five cars that were inside is believed to be around $250,000.
