London fire officials are investigating following a serious house fire in the south-end of the city.
Fire crews were called to the scene on Stroud Crescent, near White Oaks Mall, around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Crews had a difficult time extinguishing the blaze as flames could be seen shooting up from the roof, heavy smoke was also an issue.
Three people were inside the home at the time of the fire, but were able to make it out safely.
Officials are looking into the possibility careless smoking was a factor in the blaze, but an official cause for the fire hasn’t been declared.
A damage estimate has not yet been released.
An fire inspector will likely be back at the scene Monday morning.
