Firefighters worked to extract a woman from her SUV Wednesday afternoon after it was struck by a car and flipped onto its side on Wellington Road north of Wilkins Street in London.

The northbound SUV was turning left into a parking lot, being allowed to cross the southbound lanes by backed up traffic in the left lane when the car, travelling southbound in the open curb lane struck the vehicle, according to witnesses at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, along with the driver and passengers of the car, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
