A defective fire place was the cause of another fire that happened within the city yesterday. The fire department is saying they responded to a house on Queens Ave where fire started at 7:40 pm last night

The fireplace was destroyed and interior walls on three levels on the west side opened up looking for fire extension. The building suffered smoke damage throughout.

Fire got into walls of the older home and was travelling up to roof area. Fire crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the home.

Damages are estimated at $100,000
