Fire crews had a busy night when they were called to a Simcoe St apartment. It was around 10:30 when residents of the building smelled smoke. A fire broke out on the 11th floor where a 50 year old man who was alone, suffered serious burns to most of his body.

He was transported to hospital by ambulance where he remains in serious condition.

The London Fire Inspector as well as Fire Marshall are on scene investigating as the cause is still not known.

London police are also assisting in the investigation.
