A kitchen fire in London’s southeast end has caused some major damage.

London Fire Crews say they were called to a home on Ashbury Avenue around 7:30 p.m on Friday.

Officials say when they arrived on scene the family was standing in front of the home and smoke was seen coming inside.

Once in the house, fire fighters say they fought back the flames, trying to keep them from spreading to the other rooms and the attic.

Crews say no one was injured in the incident and they believe was started by grease.

Damage is estimated at $55,000.
