The London Fire Department has issued a new ban on open air burns within the city Wednesday (July 18) due to extremely high temperatures and drought conditions in the area.
Open air burning include the use of outdoor fire pits and recreational burning under certain conditions.
Outdoor cooking may be conducted between 11 a.m. and midnight, provided the fire is no larger than 46 centimetres in length, 46 centimetres in width and 30 centimetres in height.
This policy does not include barbecues, which may be used at any time.
The department will give notice of the lifting of the ban on its website.
