Three London businesses have been fined more than $100,000 following several recent fire code violations.

Terra Corp. Management, Transglobe Property Management and Marino’s Pizzeria and Bar failed inspections by the London Fire Department, and were taken to provincial court last week.

Terra Corp. Management was ordered to pay $50,000 in fines for a number of fire code violations found at four apartment buildings on Huron Street. Transglobe Property Management was slapped with a $20,000 fine for violations at three buildings on Kipps Lane, while Marino’s Pizzeria and Bar was given $31,000 in fines.

Fire Chief John Kobarda says they’re committed to fire safety.

“These significant fines demonstrate the commitment by the London Fire Department, the Provincial Courts and the Province of Ontario toward making the province and the City of London fire safe. While some of the companies are larger corporations, many smaller businesses believe that the violations found during inspections conducted by the London Fire Department are based on department or municipal policies and rules.”

All violations were found during scheduled inspections.
