Damage is pegged at $100,000 following a stubborn house fire in Old South.

The fire department was contacted by neighbours about the blaze inside a home on Windsor Ave just before 11 a.m. Friday.

It took firefighters sometime to locate the fire in a second floor bathroom because there was so much heavy smoke.

Once inside, crews managed to bring the fire quickly under control.

The bathroom was gutted, and the second floor of the home sustained extensive heat and smoke damage.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
