A 47 year old London man has been charged with having a marijuana grow operation after it was discovered following a fire.

The fire broke out just after 12:30pm Sunday at 313 Horton Street East. A pot on a stove caught fire causing 50,000 dollars damage. The grow operation was found by firefighters after they extinguished the blaze.

A search warrant was done at the home by members of the London Police Guns and Drugs Unit along with the RCMP on Monday morning where they found 82 marijuana plants worth 82,000 dollars.

Joseph Plamondon has been arrested and charged with one count of unlawfully producing a Schedule II substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
