Someone, it seems, couldn’t wait for the demolition of the old Tepperman’s store at Wharncliffe and Commissioners roads to be finished. The building is being torn down, but that’s going to have to wait a short while for fire officials and police to investigate a suspected arson. London firefighters arrived at about 4 a.m. Friday to find the rear of the structure, where the warehouse used to be, on fire. Fire Chief Paul Carew said the blaze hadn’t yet made its way to the showroom. Carew said the front door had been tampered with, leading to an investigation by a fire inspector and the police. Tepperman’s moved out of the building about four years ago.
