For the second time in less than three days, there’s been a suspicious fire at the old Tepperman’s store on Wharncliffe at Commissioners.

Fire crews were back at the partially demolished structure just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, after witnesses noticed smoke coming from the building.

The fire was quickly contained, and no injuries were reported.

Early Friday morning, there was another fire at the building, one investigators had deemed suspicious.

As was the case on Friday, fire crews took extreme caution because of the presence of asbestos inside the building. It was a potential danger for both firefighters and residents in the area, but with the blaze quickly extinguished – there was no danger to firefighters or the public.

There’s no word if Sunday night’s blaze is also being treated as a case of suspected arson.
