For the second time in as many nights, London Firefighters had to battle a house fire.

A one-storey house went up in flames just after 8 p.m. Tuesday when no one was home.

No people were hurt in the fire, but two pets were, one fatally.

“There were two dogs in the house at the time. The owner got them both out. One was lost due to smoke inhalation,” said district fire Chief Dave Beecroft. “The other was taken to the emergency vet’s for observation and treatment for smoke inhalation.”

The fire, started in the kitchen, caused $60,000 in damage.
