The London Fire Department is reminding Londoners of the open-air-burning bylaw.
Burning yard waste is an infringement of the bylaw. Repeat offenders are subject to a monetary fine, withdrawal of privileges or provincial prosecution.
Deputy Fire Chief Dan Oldridge says yard waste can be composted, taken to a drop-off site or left at the curb on specific dates for collection by the city.
