An unattended candle that started a fire last Thursday has resulted in further consequences for residents of a home on Inverary Road.

London fire officials found that smoke alarms had been disabled on the upper and main levels of the home and there was no alarm in the basement.

You can be fined $50,000 and spend one year in jail, or both, for not complying with smoke alarm regulations.
