An early morning fire Wednesday in a vacant east. London building is the second suspicious fire on the property in a week.
Platoon Chief Gerald Beedle said the blaze at Belton Lumber, 313 Rectory St.. was deliberately set.
Firemen were called shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday when flames were seen shooting up to seven metres (25 feet) from the roof. They remained there most of the morning dousing the stubborn blaze.
On Saturday firefighters were called to put out a fire in an empty storage shed behind the same building John McCarthy said the cause was of “suspicious origin.” The building, owned by Paramount Properties, was being torn down by Ace Wrecking Co to make way for a shopping plaza.
