Four firefighters spraying a fire hose into a manhole

A short in some electrical cables is being blamed for an underground fire and explosion at York and Talbot street that blacked out Londons core for about three hours Sunday morning. Police, firefighters, London Public Utilities Commission and Union Gas workers converged on the scene. Traffic lights in the area bounded by Ridout, York and Waterloo streets and Dufferin Avenue were out until power was restored at 11:18 a.m.
