Fire damaged the second and third floors of Gold and Gold recycling Industries Inc. on Bathurst Street Monday afternoon. No one was injured.
No estimate on the loss was available from owner Barry Gold or acting Deputy Fire Chief Ed Weston. The building had no structural damage, the acting deputy said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Two employees working on the third floor, Maria Fortese of 121 Commissioners Rd. W. and Bambina Circelli of 43 Oliver St., got out of the building before smoke became dense.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze by pouring water through second and third floor windows.
Most of the goods lost in the fire were stacks of paper and rags, firemen said.
