Many a fond memory is all that’s left to reflect upon for five-year-old Mary Rogers and hundreds of other children who lived in the Bruce Street area of London.  Monday, the fire station closed the doors and the men moved to the new Westmount station.  Over the years the firemen have added a bandage to a scraped knee, fixed a broken bicycle, mowed lawns for the elderly and kept the children cool in the summer by spraying them with water.  The station, built in 1880, housed on truck.
