CaptureA number of community volunteers will come together Saturday to raise money for a Fanshawe College student who nearly died in a devastating fire in east London.

The fundraiser, which will take place at Oxbury Centre from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., will help raise money for Nkinyam Ngoh after he lost nearly all of his belongings in a townhouse fire on Huron Street last month.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Ngoh, along with the contents of a trust fund set up with CIBC.

Ngoh was found without vital signs when fire crews pulled him from a blaze on July 27th. The 24-year-old was brought back to life by paramedic crews soon after, but not before almost all of his personal belongings were lost in the blaze. Most notably, Ngoh needs money for a new laptop for his computer programming courses at Fanshawe this September.

Along with fundraising events, the London Fire Department will also be on-hand providing fire prevention information.
