An overnight house fire in northeast London is being treated by police and fire officials as “suspicious.”

Firefighters were called out to the two-storey, single family home on Basswood Road, just east of Huron and Highbury, at approximately 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials say two adults inside the home, believed to be in their 50s, were able to make it out safely thanks to working smoke alarms which alerted them to the blaze.

Three vehicles in the driveway were damaged, along with the garage, and front door of the home.

The fire appears to have two points of origin, although the cause remains under investigation.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.

London Police are guarding the scene until the Ontario Fire Marshal arrives to conduct a more thorough investigation.

At this point, investigators have no suspects.
