Theatre goers at the Grand Theatre were given an unscheduled — and chilly — intermission.

Those in attendance for the “Elf” production were evacuated after reports of smoke on the 4th floor around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Once fire crews arrived, it was determined there wasn’t a fire.

Instead, officials believe ornaments on the Christmas tree on the fourth floor overheated, causing the smoke.

Firefighters stayed at the Grand for an hour to ensure there wasn’t a fire.

No smoke damage was reported, and no one was injured.
