Three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a house fire in London’s west end.

The fire started around 10:30 on Sunday night at a home on Poppy Court in the Sarnia Road and Wonderland Road area.

“We had a fully involved (fire at) a garage attached to a house,” said London Fire District Chief Dennis Harper. “When we arrived there was heavy flames and smoke coming from the garage.”

All three of the people were transported to hospital by EMS, they were suffering from smoke inhalation.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

“We were there for about two hours,” Harper said. “There were a number of hot spots, there was a car in the garage and it took awhile to make sure we had everything contained.

There’s no word on how the fire started at this point, but it is not considered suspicious.
