A City of London Fire Truck sits outside the Central Fire Station on the northeast corner of Waterloo and York streets. This station officially opened on July 29, 1957 and cost $210,000, The Central Fire Station later moved to the northwest corner of Horton and Colborne, and the building at Waterloo and York now is the home of Middlesex-London EMS Ambulance Headquarters. The homes seen in the background, located on the east side of Waterloo Street, have been demolished
