In the early 1900s large organizations were known to have their own fire-fighting units, that were operated separately from those of the municipality. Western Fair had their own fire hall to help ensure a quick response if a fire were to occur in any of their buildings. Despite having this equipment onsite it didn’t help save the Crystal Palace at Queens Park from a disastrous fire, that occured in 1927.
