Product description
This recall involves three models of reusable Vertigo brand lighters imported and distributed by Lumigem Canada Inc. The recalled models are: Vertigo – Jolt, Vertigo – Cyclone and Vertigo – Bullet.
Hazard identified
Laboratory tests show that they can pose a risk to user safety because they do not meet the performance testing requirements outlined in the Lighters Regulations.
These products can pose the following problems:
- the lighters may exceed the allowable flame heights during ignition;
- the lighters may continue to burn after the trigger mechanism has been released;
- the lighters may leak.
Neither Lumigem Canada Inc. nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these lighters.
