One person is in hospital following an overnight fire at a high rise apartment in east London.
Firefighters were called out to a unit on the first floor of a building on Scenic Drive, just east of Adelaide and Thompson Road, shortly after midnight Thursday.
A quick thinking neighbour had managed to extinguish the blaze by the time firefighters arrived.
However, the lone occupant of the apartment, a woman in her mid 30′s, was taken to hospital.
The extent of her injuries is unknown.
It’s believed the fire started in the kitchen, but the cause remains under investigation.
Damage is estimated at $3,000.
