Police say five people have been sent to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on Highbury Avenue in the city’s southeast end.
Police were called to the scene just after 12 p.m. Wednesday. The collision involved three vehicles, including a Voyageur Transportation passenger van and a pick-up truck. Five people were rushed to hospital with at least one person in critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and police closed northbound lanes of Highbury Avenue between Commissioners Road and Highway 401 for most of the afternoon while the traffic reconstruction team investigated.
