hyde-park-fire-updateMonths after a fire ripped through a strip mall in Hyde Park, the Ontario Fire Marshal has classified the cause of the blaze as ‘accidental’.

The June 30th fire destroyed several businesses in the plaza and resulted in an estimated loss of $1.5 million.

The London Fire Department issued an update on Monday after it recently received the Ontario Fire Marshal’s findings related to the massive fire.

“No evidence was found suggesting an intentionally set fire. The extensive damage from the fire made it impossible to determine an exact cause,” according to the release issued by the London Fire Department.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office says that despite the extensive damage, the evidence does suggest that the fire started in the attic space of the building.
