Three-year-old Tyson McQuinn and his brother Aidan McQuinn, 4, were visiting City Hall last week when they ran into Sparky the Fire Dog who was helping announce National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 4-10. The week is full of community activities and information displays. Wednesday, Oct. 7 will see a fire prevention display at the City Hall cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. while fire safety and vehicle displays will be at both Costco locations from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Sparky is visiting the Wellington Rd. location from 12 noon to 4 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 8 there will be a fire safety display at Hamilton Road Seniors Centre, 525 Hamilton Road, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on Friday, Oct. 9 the London Fire Department will be sponsoring the London Knights hockey game at the John Labatt Centre. The 2009 Tim Hortons Risk Watch Teacher of the Year recipient, Chris Thompson, from Lord Roberts French Immersion Public School, will be dropping the puck on centre ice.
