We had the most incredible day visiting Fire Houses 6 and 14 in London. We went to drop off some thank you cupcakes, groceries, and pictures that Jacob made and in turn we had some amazing fun and experiences of a lifetime.
Fire House 6 let the kids explore the truck, try out the firehose, slide down the pole (kinda) and gave them coloring books.
Determined to one-up House 6, Fire House 14 gave the kids helmets and took us for a ride in the fire truck around the station! Jake got to try out the horn and they even turned on the siren for him.
I have to say the best part of the visits was talking to the firefighters, captains, and even the chief! They are all amazing people to do what they do day in and day out. They were so grateful for the visit and I was surprised to find out that not many people come by.
We had the best family day ever and I strongly encourage everyone to support your community heroes. Just let them know they are appreciated. A card or visit goes a long way!!
