DESCRIPTION:London Fire Department will once again partner with Catholic Central High School in this year’s annual coat drive. \nStarting on Monday December 2nd and running until Friday December 20th the public will be invited to drop off gently used men’s\, women’s\, and children’s winter coats at any fire hall.  Coats donated at our stations will be picked up by CCH volunteers and taken to CCH where they are sorted by students and distributed to London agencies serving the homeless\, the disadvantaged and new immigrants. \nThere is an even greater need this year so\, if you have a coat in your closet that is no longer being used\, please donate it to the coat drive.  Give someone else the gift of warmth this winter! \nThanks in advance to the crews for their invaluable assistance and to Fire Administration for their support. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:London Fire Fighters will participate in our local Remembrance Day ceremony marching with our veterans from the Delta Armouries to the Cenotaph. \nDate: Monday\, November 11th\, 2024\nTime: 10:00 AM at London Delta Armories to start forming up \n  \nPlease muster alongside other emergency services and military personnel. The parade will proceed west on Dundas Street to Wellington Road\, turning north to the cenotaph. \nDress: full tunic with soft cap and white gloves. If you own white gloves\, kindly bring them. We will also have a supply of gloves available for those who require them. \nThis is an important occasion for us as first responders to pay our respects\, and we strongly encourage all personnel to attend. DESCRIPTION:The Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund will be donating and dedicating a defibrillator in remembrance of  Captain Brad Tanner. \nLondon Fire Department and the London Professional Fire Fighters Association have been supporters of the Mounsey Memorial Fund since its inception. This donation will be the 9th in the name of a London Fire Department member\, and the funds’ 199th donation. These life-saving devices are placed in community areas in the name of Line of Duty Deaths of military\, police\, fire and EMS. \n6 lives have been saved\, with two being from London Fire donations. \nThis defib will be donated to a local gym\, the Rep Room and will be accessible to other businesses in the area. The donation will take place with a ‘hero’ style workout to follow. Scalable options for the workout will be offered so all skill levels are welcome. \nPlease wear your red or blue T-shirt.

DESCRIPTION:Once again the London Fire Department has partnered with Catholic Central High School to support the annual coat drive. \nStarting on Monday December 4th and running until Monday December 18th gently used men’s\, women’s\, and children’s winter coatscan be donated to any fire hall.  Donated coats are sorted by students\, and CCH volunteers to be distributed to London agencies serving the homeless\, the disadvantaged and new immigrants. \nThere is an even greater need this year so\, if you have a coat in your closet\nthat is no longer being used\, please donate it to the coat drive.\nGive someone else the gift of warmth this winter!\nThanks in advance to the crews for their invaluable assistance. \nThanks also to Fire Administration for their support.

DESCRIPTION:London Fire personnel will be participating in a volunteer boot toll on Saturday November 25th throughout London to support Muscular Dystrophy Canada. \n2023 will mark 69 years that firefighters around the world have been raising money for Muscular Dystrophy. In 2022 Canadian firefighters raised over 3.5 million dollars and we were making a difference. The advances made in the last few years have enabled clinical trials to continue\, with medicines and therapies that improve quality of life. Your hard work is paying off and the families we support can’t thank you enough.

DESCRIPTION:Funeral processions honouring the late Captain Bruinink of the LFD were held this morning and will take place again tomorrow between 11:40 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.\nThe processions will travel along Wonderland Road between Beaverbrook Road and Southdale Road\, on Southdale Road between Wonderland Road and Bostwick Road\, and on Bostwick Road towards Wharncliffe Road South. \nAnyone wishing to pay their respects to Captain Bruinink and his family\, are encouraged to stand along Wonderland Road between 11:40 am and 12:00 pm.
