London firefighters arrived on scene of a downtown fire that broke out around 9:00 last evening. You can see flames bursting out of the attic of a residential unit and business located at Central Avenue near Richmond Street. Witnesses say the fire started in the basement at the back of the building and spread rapidly. Everyone was evacuated safely. At least half a dozen fire trucks were on scene. The fire was contained, but there was a risk of flare ups. No word on the cause, or the extent of damage.
