The department will indicate on its website, www.london.ca/fire, when the ban is lifted.
Open air burning includes the use of outdoor fire pits and recreational burning under certain conditions.
Outdoor cooking may be conducted between 11 a.m. and midnight, provided the fire is no larger than 46 centimetres in length, 46 centimetres in width and 30 centimetres in height.
This policy does not include barbecues, which may be used at any time.
This is the second such ban issued this month.
According to Environment Canada, the forecasted high for London for Friday (June 29) is 32 C.
