With the help of (left) Julianne Wever and (centre right) Constable Byron McNeil of the London fire and police departments as well as (right) Iris Merino of TD Bank Group, the event’s title sponsor, special guest Chantal Davison cuts the birthday cake to officially mark the occasion.

It was birthday cake and balloons at the YMCA Children’s Village on Sunday (June 3) as the facility celebrated its 11th anniversary.

Held in conjunction with YMCA Healthy Kids day, the event featured a number of healthy and safety related demonstrations and activities.

The YMCA Children’s Safety Village teaches hands-on safety lessons on indoor and personal safety as well as road safety in the outdoor child-size village.

“This is a really great place. We put about 10,000 elementary school kids a year through here every year with the help of both the police and fire departments,” said Shaun Elliott, CEO of the YMCA of Western Ontario.
