No Serious Injuries Reported After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Base Line Road Building

No serious injuries were reported Wednesday afternoon after a black Dodge pickup truck crashed into the side of a building on Base Line Road East.

Emergency crews responded to the scene outside 750 Base Line Road East, home to the Lawson Health Research Institute, just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The crash damaged the building’s outdoor sign, and took out two brick support columns that held up a portion of the building’s outdoor overhang. Fire crews at the scene had to use temporary support beams to move the truck and keep the overhang from collapsing. Crews managed to move the truck away from the building just after 5:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported in or outside the building. The truck’s driver escaped injury.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
