One man suffered smoke inhalation and burns to his hands and face after an apartment fire at 456 Horton St. late the night of Jan. 3.

London firefighters arrived on the scene to find the rear apartment in the structure engulfed in heavy smoke. They quickly knocked the fire down, which is believed to have caused about $40,000 damage.

The injured man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators are on the scene.
