Five London Firefighters who helped others rescue a man from a cement silo in Beachville in 2004 have been honoured today.

Michael Black, Brent Kirchner, Darrell Black, Daniel Glanville and Benoit Ladouceur all received the Medal of Bravery in Ottawa.

Chief John Kobarda says they were happy to help out crews working to free the man, and he is very proud of these firefighters.

The man was cleaning the inside of the silo when he became trapped and was eventually freed after the 13 hour ordeal.
