Crews are dousing hot spots in a north London neighbourhood follow an early morning blaze at an apartment building on Adelaide Street.
London Police, Fire and EMS were called to Adelaide Gardens at 869 Adelaide Street North around 5:52 a.m., to the report of a fire on the north-east side of the building.
EMS has told AM980 one person has been sent to hospital with minor smoke inhalation.
AM980 has learned that person is the occupant of the unit where the blaze started. Their current status is unknown.
A firefighter has also sustained unknown injures while fighting the blaze.
Residents of an apartment building next door at 871 Adelaide Street were evacuated as a precaution.
Police are on scene to assist with traffic management, and have closed off Adelaide from St. James Street to Cheapside as firefighters remain on scene.
There is no word on a damage estimate, and the Ontario Fire Marshal will be investigating.
