The London Fire Department (LFD) and in particular, the fire fighters at Fire Station Number Two on Florence Street, welcomed three special guests for breakfast on Wednesday morning (Oct. 10).

Garbriella, Kelli and Evan, Grade 2 students at Bishop Townshend, Prince Charles and St. Bernadette elementary schools respectively, were the winners of a Fire Prevention Week, Breakfast with the Firefighters contest.

Joined by their families at Fire Station Number Two, the guests were treated to a tour of the facility and a pancake breakfast prepared by the firefighters before enjoying a ride to school on a LFD vehicle.

The three winners were randomly chosen from many submissions in which students at selected schools drew up comprehensive home escape plans that could be used to safely “get out and stay out” in the event of a fire.
