Open Burn Ban Issued by London Fire Department

Due to the continuing heat and dry conditions that have taken over the city, the London Fire Department has issued a burn ban until further notice.

Anyone who fails to comply with the open air burning bylaw could see a fine.

Any notice regarding lifting the ban will be available on their website at www.london.ca/fire

During scheduled inspections, the London Fire Department found multiple violations at four Huron Street apartment buildings operated by Terra Corp. Management Inc. Violations were found at three Kipps Lane buildings operated by Transglobe Property Management Services Ltd.

Heavy smoke and huge flames causing problems for London firefighters today at a building on McCormick Boulevard.

The building once housed Richwood Kitchens but has since been empty and no word yet on what caused the fire.

The building was apparently being demolished.
